This document describes the billing details for the TDSQL-C for MySQL Serverless service.
Billing Mode
For the Serverless service, compute and storage are independently billed: compute is billed based on the number of CCUs, and storage is billed based on usage in GB. The billing system charges per second and settles per hour.
Billing Formula
Total Serverless cost = Compute node cost + Storage space cost = Serverless compute price × CCU quantity + Storage space price × Storage space.

Note:
A CCU (TDSQL-C Compute Unit) is the compute billing unit for Serverless. One CCU is approximately equivalent to the compute resources of 1 CPU and 2 GB of memory. The number of CCUs used in each billing cycle is the maximum value between the number of CPU cores used by the database and 1/2 of the memory size.
Storage Space Pricing
Storage space is divided into primary storage and secondary storage. Specifically, clusters with the instance mode of the provisioned resource support primary storage, while clusters with the instance mode of Serverless support both primary storage and secondary storage.
In a Serverless cluster, the billing mode for secondary storage is consistent with that of primary storage. For example, if primary storage uses the pay-as-you-go billing mode, secondary storage also uses the same mode. If primary storage uses the storage resource pack deduction mode, secondary storage also uses the same mode.

Storage Resource Pack Deduction Rules
A 1 GB-sized storage resource pack can be used to deduct 30 GB of secondary storage data. For details about the introduction and pricing of storage resource packs, see Storage Resource Pack. Serverless Resource Pack Description
TDSQL-C for MySQL has launched the resource pack service, which allows you to pre-purchase compute and storage resources at a lower unit price to reduce costs. This section describes the definition and billing order of resource packs. A resource pack is a prepaid resource type, which is categorized into compute resource packs and storage resource packs. It can be used to deduct the compute or storage resources generated by a Serverless cluster. After you purchase and bind a resource pack, the resources in the pack are consumed first. When the resources are depleted within the validity period, you can purchase a new resource pack and continue to bind it for use. If no new resource pack is bound for deduction, the cluster will switch to the pay-as-you-go billing mode. In this case, the fees incurred by using the cluster will be deducted from your Tencent Cloud account balance according to the billing formula described above.
Note:
To help you understand, the resource pack is compared to a mobile data plan. Under normal circumstances, the mobile data fee is USD 1/GB. If a user spends USD 10 to purchase a 50 GB mobile data plan valid for one month, the effective unit price is USD 0.2/GB. The user can then enjoy the discounted unit price of USD 0.2/GB within the one-month validity period. When the data plan is used up within the validity period, the user can purchase a new mobile data plan to continue enjoying the discounted unit price. If the user stops purchasing and using mobile data plans, the traffic fee will revert to USD 1/GB.
