Cross-MLC-border acceleration is achieved through the EdgeOne acceleration and security nodes in global area, allowing users in Mainland China to maintain a high-speed, secure connection with your business, further reducing network latency while improving accessibility.
Based on your business scenario, the solution is divided into the following two types, and the cost stacking relationship is as follows:
Solution 1: Enable Cross-MLC-border acceleration. If you only need to accelerate access from the Chinese mainland to sites deployed outside the Chinese mainland and do not require additional DDoS/CC protection capabilities, simply enable the Cross-MLC-border acceleration feature. This will incur the "Cross-MLC-border acceleration traffic fee" described below.
Solution 2: Cross-MLC-border acceleration + Cross-region DDoS/CC Protection. If, in addition to Solution 1, you also require dedicated DDoS/CC attack protection for the "Cross-MLC-border acceleration" route, you need to subscribe to a DDoS Defender plan (Essential/Premium) and the Cross-region Protection Capability Add-on, and configure the DDoS protection level for your domain names or L4 proxy instances to Ultimate Protection. In this case, in addition to the fees for Solution 1 and the DDoS Defender related fees, the "DDoS clean traffic transder fee (cross-region)" will also be incurred. For details, see below. Cross-MLC-border acceleration traffic fee
The Cross-MLC-border acceleration feature is only supported in the Enterprise plan and is billed as a value-added service based on traffic.
Specific price as follows:
|
Cross-MLC-border acceleration traffic | 0.57 | Hour or month |
Note:
Cross-MLC-border acceleration traffic fee is a value-added service fee, which is an additional value-added service fee charged on top of Fees for Out-of-plan Resource Usage in the Basic Services Fees. Since the access point of the Cross-MLC-border acceleration is in Hong Kong (China), it belongs to the Asia Pacific Zone 1 (AP1), so the site usage that generates Fees for Out-of-plan Resource Usage will be billed according to the Asia Pacific Zone 1 (AP1) price. Cross-MLC-border acceleration traffic fees does not support the use of in-package included traffic for deduction.
Example:
Assume that a user has activated the Mainland China Network Optimization (International Acceleration) feature for a site example.com at 00:00 on October 21. From October 21 to October 31, the secure acceleration generated 5TB of traffic, all of which originated from Mainland China users and passed through the Mainland China Network Optimization route. After activating the Mainland China Network Optimization (International Acceleration), the service access point belongs to the Asia Pacific Zone 1. Therefore, according to the the billing follows the Fees for Out-of-plan Resource Usage (postpaid) price, the basic traffic unit price for the L7 layer of this region is $0.0977 per GB, and the Mainland China Network Optimization traffic unit price is $0.57 per GB. Therefore, the total cost generated in October is as follows:
Billing item | Usage | Price |
L7 (Application Layer) traffic charges | 5 TB | 5 * 1000 * 0.0977 = 488.5 USD |
Cross-MLC-border acceleration service charges | 5 TB | 5 * 1000 * 0.57 = 2850 USD |
Total |
| 3338.5 USD |
DDoS clean traffic transfer fee (cross-region)
If you have subscribed to a DDoS Defender plan (Essential/Premium) and the Cross-Region Protection Capability add-on, and configured the DDoS protection level for your domain names or L4 proxy instances to Ultimate Protection, traffic from Mainland China will be scrubbed and then reinjected into acceleration nodes in global areas (excluding Mainland China). This clean traffic transfer after protection will incur an additional "DDoS clean traffic transfer fee (cross-region)", which is billed on top of the "Cross-MLC-border acceleration traffic fee". Specific prices are as follows (postpaid pay-as-you-go, with hourly settlement):
|
0 – 100 TB (excl.) | 0.47 |
|
100 – 500 TB (excl.) | 0.42 |
|
500 – 1,000 TB (excl.) | 0.36 |
|
1,000 – 5,000 TB (excl.) | 0.32 |
|
≥ 5000 TB | 0.28 |
|
Note:
DDoS clean traffic transfer fee (cross-region) does not support the use of in-package included traffic from EO or DDoS plans for deduction.
Example: Solution 2 (Cross-MLC-border Acceleration + Cross-Region DDoS/CC Protection), and total clean traffic for the month is 5 TB
Assume that a user has subscribed to the Essential plan and the Cross-Region Protection Capability add-on of DDoS Defender, and configured the DDoS protection level for the site example.com to Ultimate Protection. The Cross-MLC-border acceleration feature is also enabled for this site. In that month:
The total clean traffic is 5 TB, all originating from users in the Chinese mainland and routed through the Cross-MLC-border acceleration line (Asia Pacific Zone 1).
5 TB of clean traffic transfer (global, excluding Chinese mainland) after DDoS protection;
5 TB of clean traffic transfer (cross-region) after DDoS protection;
There are a total of 30 EO domain names under the site example.com that are configured to Ultimate DDoS protection level.
According to the plan rules, the Essential plan includes 10 TB of clean traffic transfer + 25 protection resources free of charge per month. In this example, the 5 TB of clean traffic transfer is within the free quota. However, the 30 protection resources exceed the quota by 5. The excess resources are billed at the postpaid tiered price of 0.05 USD per resource/hour (0 - 100 resource tier), with an hourly settlement cycle. The total cost for that month consists of the following:
|
L7 (Application Layer) traffic fee (Asia Pacific 1) | 5 TB | 5 × 1000 × 0.0977 = 488.5 USD |
Cross-MLC-border acceleration service charges | 5 TB | 5 × 1000 × 0.57 = 2850 USD |
DDoS clean traffic (global, excluding Chinese mainland) | 5 TB (within the free 10 TB plan quota) | 0 USD |
DDoS clean traffic (cross-region) | 5 TB (not eligible for plan quota deduction) | 5 × 1000 × 0.47 = 2350 USD |
DDoS Defender Plan (Essential Edition) | 1 set/month | 1300 USD |
Cross-region protection capability add-on | 1 set/month | 13000 USD |
DDoS protected resources (EO domain) | 30 (25 free within the plan, 5 exceeding) | 5 × 0.05 × 24 × 30 = 180 USD |
Total |
| 20168.5 USD |
