This tutorial applies to scenarios where you do not have a CX (Cloud Exchange) platform account and need to achieve interconnection between Tencent Cloud and Alibaba Cloud. In this service, Tencent Cloud purchases the connection service from the CX platform on behalf of the customer, helping the customer achieve one-stop integration.
Note:
In the one-stop mode, Tencent Cloud handles the relevant configurations on the CX platform on behalf of the customer, so the customer does not need to be aware of the differences in the CX platform. You only need to complete the peer-side configuration as required, based on the specific peer cloud.
Prerequisites
If you have a requirement for using Cloud Exchange, first contact your business manager or submit a ticket to apply. We will then develop a suitable networking solution for you. Meanwhile, please prepare the following information in advance:
Peer cloud: for example, AWS.
Peer region: for example, Singapore.
Peer cloud account information: for example, AWS account ID.
Bandwidth: for example, 10G*2.
Region: for example, Singapore.
Special requirements: for example, latency.
VLAN information: for example, 2999.
After you provide the above information, we will verify the resources as soon as possible. Once the verification is complete, we will promptly notify you to proceed with the next steps. The estimated processing time is 1 to 7 business days.
Alibaba Cloud Configuration
Step 1: Receiving a Physical Port
1. Log in to the Alibaba Cloud console and go to the Express Connect > Physical Ports page.
2. Locate the physical port to be received and click the request to accept the connection.
3. Wait until the physical port status changes to "Available".
Step 2: Creating a Virtual Border Router (VBR)
1. On the Express Connect > Virtual Border Router (VBR) page in the Alibaba Cloud console, click "Create Virtual Border Router".
2. Fill in the VBR basic information and select the corresponding physical port.
3. Click "OK" to complete the creation.
Step 3: Configuring VBR Parameters
On the VBR details page, configure the following parameters. All parameters must match the configuration on the Tencent Cloud side:

BGP Keys | BGP authentication key (must match the configuration on the Tencent Cloud side) |
Note: The interconnect IP address, BGP ASN, and BGP key entered in the Alibaba Cloud console must match the configurations entered in the Tencent Cloud console; otherwise, the dedicated tunnel will fail to connect.
Step 4: Configuring a BGP Group
1. On the VBR details page, click the "BGP Group" tab to create a BGP group.
2. Configure the BGP group parameters: peer ASN (Tencent Cloud BGP ASN), authentication key, and so on.
3. Click "OK" to complete the BGP group configuration.
Step 5: Creating a BGP Peer
1. On the VBR details page, click the "BGP Neighbor" tab to create a BGP Peer.
2. Configure the BGP Peer parameters: select the corresponding BGP group and enter the peer IP address (Tencent Cloud interconnection IP address).
3. Click "OK" to complete the configuration.
Step 6: Verifying BGP Neighbor Status
After the configuration on the Tencent Cloud side is complete, you can observe that the BGP neighbor can negotiate normally and its status changes to Established (UP).
Tencent Cloud Configuration
Step 1: Viewing Cloud Exchange Information and Receiving an Instance
1. Log in to the Direct Connect console and click "Cloud Exchange" in the left sidebar.
2. View the Cloud Exchange instance information, complete the acceptance, and confirm payment.
3. Wait for the physical port acceptance to be completed in the Alibaba Cloud console. Then, the Cloud Exchange instance status changes to "Running" and billing starts.
Step 2: One-Stop Deployment of Tencent Cloud Resources
1. Create resources such as Cloud VPC and Direct Connect Gateway in the corresponding region.
2. Log in to the Direct Connect console and click "Cloud Exchange".
3. On the Cloud Exchange list page, click "Build Cloud Resources with One Click".
4. Fill in the basic configuration for the dedicated tunnel and click "Next: Advanced Configuration".
5. Fill in the advanced configuration associated with the dedicated tunnel and click "Next: Configure IDC Device".
6. Click "Complete" to finish configuring the dedicated tunnel.
Note: The interconnect IP, BGP ASN, and BGP key entered in the Tencent Cloud console must match the configurations entered in the Alibaba Cloud console; otherwise, the dedicated tunnel will fail to connect.
Step 3: Verifying the Dedicated Tunnel Status
1. Wait for the configuration to be completed on the Alibaba Cloud side.
2. Log in to the Direct Connect console > Cloud Exchange > click "Tunnel Instance ID".
3. On the "Tunnel Instance > Advanced Configuration" page, view the dedicated tunnel connection status. A BGP neighbor status of Established indicates a successful connection.
Resource Interconnection Verification (On-Demand)
Note: Security group rules must allow the traffic.
Create compute instances on Tencent Cloud and Alibaba Cloud as needed and connect the relevant cloud resources. Then, test the bidirectional connectivity:
Step 1: ping the private IP address of the Alibaba Cloud instance from the Tencent Cloud side.
Step 2: ping the private IP address of the Tencent Cloud instance from the Alibaba Cloud side.
Successful bidirectional ping indicates that Tencent Cloud and Alibaba Cloud are successfully interconnected.
